About Grass-fed Grass-finished Beef

Welcome to the Home of the Halal Grass-fed Grass-finished Beef. Our cattle roam freely on lush-green American pastures and are raised without the use of antibiotics, steroids, and added growth hormones. All our meat, steaks, roasts, and organs are hand-slaughtered the old-fashioned way: by a man with a knife.

1. What is the difference between Grain-finished and Grass-finished beef?

Difference between Grain-finished vs Grass-finished
The term “finishing” refers to the final stage of cattle’s lives before arriving at the slaughterhouse.

Grain-finished:
Cows are inherently designed to eat grass. However, due to industrialization, they are put on a grain-based diet to quickly increase their weight, including corn, soybeans, or wheat. Once they reach the desired weight, they are processed, and the meat is sent to the grocery store, restaurant, or consumer. All the traditional beef available in the market falls under this category.

Grass-finished:
Grass-finished beef comes from cattle that ate nothing but grass and foraged for their entire lives. They were never given any grain or corn-based diet. A “grass-finished” cow takes almost double the time to reach the same weight as the “grain-finished” cow. So, a “grass-finished” cow is not in the interest of the majority of commercial beef suppliers.

2. What one is more healthy?

Grass-fed Grass-finished is healhty
Cows are grass eaters, so adding grain feed to their diet disrupts their digestion, increases their acidity levels, and creates a breeding ground for bacteria. Grain-fed cows also ingest hormones as part of their diet. Artificial estrogen, testosterone, hormone, or beef tallow quickly fatten them and increase their weight.

On the other hand, Grass-finished beef has:
1. Higher CLA content: Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLA) is a fatty acid with anti-cancer properties and can help lose weight.

2. More Omega-3: Grass-finished beef also contains 2-4 times more Omega-3 fatty acids than grain-fed beef. Omega-3 is essential for healthy skin, hormonal, mental and heart health, and keeping the body’s anti-inflammatory response under control.

3. Higher Vitamin levels: Grass-finished beef also tends to have higher levels of Vitamin A, E, Potassium, and Magnesium.

4. Lower Calories: Grass-finished beef also has 20% lower calories than traditional beef.

3. What is Halalan Tayyiban?

Grass-fed Grass-finished is Halalan Tayyiban
The Quran states, “Eat of what is on earth, lawful and good” (2:168).
God has prescribed us to eat food that is “Halalan Tayyiban.”
The two terms - Halal and Tayyeb, carry two different meanings.
“Halal” implies compliance with fundamental Sharia parameters, while “Tayyeb” goes beyond those fundamentals to invoke something good, pure, and wholesome.

And what can be more Halalan Tayyiban than the meat that is slaughtered according to the traditional zabiha methods (Halal), and that is pure and wholesome (Tayyeb) than “Grass-Fed Grass-Finished” beef?

4. Is Organic Beef same as Grass-finished?

Organic Beef vs Grass-finished Beef
Organic beef is not the same as Grass-finished beef. Organic beef could be Grain-finished if the grains that were used to feed the cattle were USDA Organic certified.

So, whenever you buy a grass-finished beef, the thing to check for is the "Grass-finished" label and not the "Organic" label.

5. Is the Grass-finished beef local, or do you import from foreign countries?

Grass-finished beef is local
No, we do not import any meat from foreign countries like Australia or New Zealand.
All our animals were raised on lush green American pastures.

6. Is your Grass-fed Grass-finished Zabiha Halal?
